One time I got a LO so I thought it would work all the time. This particular time I did it twice and got ERR. We should try Crystal Light again. That's what we drink at camp and everyone loves it. If you dip the test strip in it ..diet will come up 0 or LOW...regular of course would be HIGH... I give Amanda crystal light or water at home..I want her to get used to diet soda is no other option is available and who wants water all the time? True, regular soda would not cause DKA, but sometimes my son drinks 2 sodas a meal so that would be 40 carbs each drink. We would be well over 300 or 400 with that. We get to 300 if we eat 15 carbs without insulin. DKA wouldn't be far behind if we were unable to get that number down. Ugh is right! Thanks so much for reading and commenting!! Quite frankly it's none of their business what your son orders. Even if a regular soda doesn't cause DKA, it still ends up ruining a meal when you discover the error and end up treating 300s or 400s for the next 6 hours. Ugh! Here here!
